Arbitrary FHSAA Schedule Puts Female Multi-Sport Athletes in No Win

FHSAA cites a "committee" of people from lacrosse, soccer and basketball who backed their schedule shift that has caused such a rift, but we feel that had a better approach been requested, such as the one above, that the committee would have decided in favor of the athletes and not simply knee-jerked kids out of their high school multi-sport careers.

That would also make the team actually a true representation of the very best players in the entire United States of America, where there are fantastic players from sea to shining sea as the sport has exploded. We are proud of all the Florida girls who tried out. You are part of the 99.9% of high school-aged players in the country!

FHSAA is the governing body of sports in the state of Florida. They do a good job. We support FHSAA. We hope that the FHSAA will review and make adjustments on the lacrosse calendar and the district formats for the 2011 season. Powerful Checkhers, the defending U-15 National Champion, and other clubs did not make the trip to Disney for this year's championship. Most teams from the mid-atlantic and northeast are competing in Club National Championships in Germantown, Maryland, which are the same weekend as the US Lacrosse Championship event. Two national championships in one weekend! What is this? Cheerleading?
